Wade Stanfield
Wade A. Stanfield of Reece, died on Monday, February 9, 2015 at Galichia Heart Hospital, in Wichita, KS, at the age of 78.
He was born on September 1, 1936, in Wichita, KS, the son of Walter and Thelma (Johnson) Stanfield. He was raised in Wichita and attended local schools. After his schooling, he worked at a factory in Coffeyville, KS. He then moved to Denver and worked for Martin Marietta as a spot welder. In 1958, he joined the United States Army. He was stationed in Germany and served his country with honor and dignity.
After his discharge, he returned to Denver and Martin Marietta. On September 2, 1961, Wade was united in marriage to Virginia Black in Eureka. They made their home in Denver. After his retirement, in 2000 they moved to the family farm near Reece.
He was a member of the Christian & Congregational Church.
He is survived by his wife, Virginia Stanfield of the home; two sons, Cary Stanfield of Denver, CO; and Todd Stanfield of Benton, KS; five grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and one sister, Carolyn Lincicone of Wichita, KS. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Dwight Stanfield, and sister, Barbara Munger, and one infant granddaughter.
Memorial services will be held at 11:00 A.M., Friday, February 13, 2015 at Koup Family Funeral Home with Pastor Warren Olson of the Hamilton United Methodist Church officiating. Cremation has been effected.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Heart Association. Contributions may be sent in care of Koup Family Funeral Home, P.O. Box 595, Eureka, KS 67045, which was in charge of service arrangements.
