Victor Gene Rollins, Sr.

Victor Gene Rollins, Sr., of Eureka, Kansas, passed away Friday, October 30, 2026, at his home at Eureka Lake at the age of 76.

Victor was born February 4, 1950, in Shelby, Iowa, the son of Robert and Mildred (Hoeppner) Rollins. He was raised in Council Bluffs, Iowa, graduating from Thomas Jefferson High School with the Class of 1969.

On June 20, 1969, Victor was united in marriage to Connie Elizabeth Fowler in Council Bluffs. Together they made their home wherever work took him and raised their two children. Connie preceded him in death on July 2, 2021.

Victor built a long-standing career in the steel industry, working first in Council Bluffs and later in Nebraska for Owen Industries, before transferring to Wichita with Central Plains Steel as Operations Manager/Superintendent. His dedication to his craft spanned more than 42 years. After retiring and settling into life at Eureka Lake, he loved to hunt, fish, ride his motorcycle, and spend time with family and friends. Known for a quick smile and a legendary ornery streak, Victor loved a good joke and kept those around him on their toes. Above all else, family always came first.

Victor is survived by his two children: Victor Gene Rollins, Jr., and Leslee Ann Rollins, both of Eureka; two grandchildren: Austin Rollins of Eureka, and Brielle Austin of California; his siblings: Cheryl and husband, Walt Hughes, of Council Bluffs, Iowa; Lee and wife, Vicki Rollins, of Council Bluffs, Iowa; and Diane Brotherton of Council Bluffs, Iowa; as well as sister-in-law, Marge Rollins, of Council Bluffs, Iowa. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Connie; his parents; and one brother, Jerry Rollins.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 P.M., Friday, November 6, 2026, at Koup Family Funeral Home in Eureka, with Pastor Kevin Lawrence of the Climax United Methodist Church officiating. Visitation will be held from 12:00 P.M. until the start of services on Friday.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to the Koup Family Funeral Home to assist with expenses.
