Sharon Lee Hoffine

Sharon Baker Hoffine, 71, of Eureka, Kansas, passed away peacefully on Sunday, August 2, 2026, at approximately 4:30 p.m., with several of her loved ones by her side. Those present included her daughter, Tonia Winfree; son-in-law, Terry Winfree; grandchildren, Devin Harris, Ciara Harris, and Harley Harris; and granddaughter-in-law, Mica Harris, who remained with her, offering comfort, love, and support during her final moments. After enduring years of chronic pain, Sharon is now at peace, free from pain, and finally able to rest.

Sharon was born on December 12, 1954, in Morrisville, Vermont, the daughter of Louis and Myrtie Baker. She was raised in Morrisville and graduated from Morristown Peoples Academy High School with the Class of 1972.

Life took Sharon on many different paths. Over the years, she lived in several states before eventually making Eureka, Kansas, her home. Along the way, she experienced new places, met many people, and embraced the experiences that shaped her life’s journey.

She found joy in life’s simple pleasures. Sharon loved listening to Elvis Presley, relaxing in her favorite recliner while watching old westerns, and eagerly waiting for the next online shopping delivery.

One place that always held a special place in Sharon’s heart was Old Orchard Beach, Maine, where family, extended family, and friends gathered for annual reunions for more than forty years. Whenever she was able to attend, those trips brought her joy and created memories she carried with her throughout her life.

Like all of us, Sharon’s life was filled with both joys and challenges. In recent years, her family was thankful for the time they were able to spend together, especially during the moments that mattered most. Those memories will forever hold a special place in their hearts.

Sharon is survived by her daughters: Tonia and husband, Terry Winfree of Liberty, Missouri; and Cassea Mercia of Morrisville, Vermont; her grandchildren: Alex Grant; Devin and wife, Mica Harris; Ciara Harris; and Harley Harris; her great-grandchildren: Willow, Kolby, and Kayce; many cherished step-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren; her sisters: Tracy Mitchell and Cheryl Leach; along with many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Louis and Myrtie Baker, and her husband, Jim Hoffine.

Cremation has been effected, and memorial services will be held at a later date in Vermont.

Though Sharon’s earthly journey has come to an end, those who knew and loved her will forever cherish the moments they shared together. Today, her family finds comfort knowing her pain is gone, her journey is complete, and she is finally at peace.

You will be deeply missed as a mom, grandma, great-grandma, sister, aunt, and friend. Thank you for the memories, the laughter, and for being part of our lives. May you finally rest in everlasting peace. You will forever be in our hearts. We love you, always.
