Norman Lee Joy of El Dorado, died on Friday, March 25, 2016, at the Golden Living Center in El Dorado, at the age of 73.

He was born on June 7, 1942, in Eureka, the son of Warren and Lela (Brayfield) Joy. He was raised in the Eureka area and attended local schools. He worked from the age of eight, alongside his father, delivering fuel to the Greenwood community. After his schooling, Norman joined the United States Army and had various jobs including dairy farming, cement mixing, and his own roofing business.

He is survived by his three children, Tracy Joy of Topeka; Debbie Lance of Severy; and Darrin Joy of Larned; six grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and one sister, Sue Knox of El Dorado. He was preceded in death by his parents; spouse; and one nephew.

Memorial services will be held at 2:00 P.M., Monday, April 4, 2016, at Greenwood Cemetery, in Eureka with Mr. Jayme A. Koup officiating. Cremation has been effected.

In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that memorials be made to the Ronald McDonald House Charities Wichita or to the Midian Shrine Plane of Mercy. Contributions may be sent in care of Koup Family Funeral Home, P.O. Box 595, Eureka, KS 67045, which is in charge of service arrangements.
