Nora Viola Huston, died on Thursday, March 24, 2005 at Medicalodge of Eureka, where she had lived for a number of years.
Nora Huston, daughter of L.A. “Bert” and Pearl (Burnett) King, was born on January 11, 1901, near Quincy. She was a lifetime resident of Greenwood County. She married Barney Worford on December 6, 1917. They were the parents of three children. The family continued to live in the Quincy community where they were active members of the Evangelical U.B. church school, and social activities. Barney preceded her in death on May 2, 1934.
On July 2, 1942, Nora was united in marriage to G.L. “Lem” Huston who had a small daughter. The family moved to Hamilton where they lived until 1977, when they moved to Eureka. Lem preceded her in death on September 10, 1984.
Nora was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Eureka, and was an active member as long as her health permitted.
Nora is survived by two daughters, Kathryn Williams of Eureka; Yolanda and husband Bob Bischoff of El Dorado; son, Wayne and wife Melba Worford of Highland Ranch, Colorado; nine grandchildren; four step-grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; one niece, Betty Rose of Emporia; and one nephew, Blaine and wife Lendal King of Minneapolis, Minnesota.
She was preceded in death, by her parents; her husbands; one son, Therald; one brother, Boyd King, and one sister, Ceola Geist.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M., Saturday, March 26, 2005 at Koup Family Funeral Home, Eureka with Reverend Diana Hill of the First United Methodist Church officiating. Interment will follow in Quincy Cemetery, Quincy.
In lieu of flowers, memorials have been established in her name to the Greenwood County Home Health & Hospice and Medicalodge of Eureka. Contributions may be sent in care of the funeral home at P.O. Box 595, Eureka, KS 67045.
