Monroe Jackson “Jack” Pollock, 87, whose pockets were always full of handmade trinkets and whose heart was always full of family, passed away on Monday, April 20, 2026, at Fredonia Regional Hospital.
Born on February 24, 1939, in Elkins, Arkansas, Jack was the son of Silas and Violet (Davis) Pollock. His family moved to Kansas in the mid-1950s, where he grew up in the Elkins and Andover areas, eventually graduating from Andover High School. Following high school, Jack served his country in the Army National Guard. In 1960, he married Lillian Koop, with whom he shared three children. They raised their family in Wichita before later divorcing. A man of immense drive, Jack trained as a master electrician and established his own successful business, Pollock Electric, in Wichita. In 1992, Jack married Jeanne Lou McNamee, blending their families into one. They lived in Wichita for many years before enjoying their retirement together in Fall River.
True to his name, Jack was a master of many crafts who found joy in the work of his hands. While he made his living as an electrician, his true passion lay in creation. Whether it was carpentry, intricate woodworking, or playing the bagpipes, he was always in the middle of a project. He was known for fabricating his own replacement parts for any broken machine, if a part didn't exist, he simply made it out of wood or steel. Perhaps his most cherished hobby was making small gifts; he crafted dominoes, dice, and earrings, often keeping several pairs of handmade earrings in his pocket just to give away to friends and strangers alike. Jack was a dedicated Mason during his years in Wichita and an active member of the Midian Shrine, where he shared his love of music in the Shrine band. Above all his accomplishments, his greatest joy was the time he spent surrounded by his large, loving family.
Jack is survived by his wife, Jeanne; his children, Jeana and husband, John Rankin of Wichita; and Jamie and wife, Lisa Pollock of San Antonio, TX; his step-children, Aaron and wife, Nikki Miller of Wichita; and Grant and wife, Brandy Miller of Frisco, TX; five grandchildren, Ian, MacKenzie, Jessica, Carter, and Audrey; and two great-grandchildren, Emmie and Ella. He also leaves behind two sisters, Rosie Tuck and Liz Kelley, both of Fayetteville, AR. He was preceded in death by his parents, his son Eric Pollock, and three siblings.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 P.M. on Tuesday, April 28, 2026, at the Severy Baptist Church in Severy, Kansas, with Pastor Tony Pameticky officiating. Interment will follow at Whitehall Bay Cemetery in Fall River.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorials be made to the Severy Baptist Church. Contributions may be sent in care of Koup Family Funeral Home, PO Box 595, Eureka, KS 67045, which is overseeing all arrangements.
