Medy Honor Higuchi

With heartfelt sorrow, we announce the passing of Medy Honor Higuchi of Hamilton. On Thursday, May 15, 2025, at the age of 64, her gentle spirit peacefully departed this earthly realm at her cherished home. Medy possessed a radiant warmth; to know her was to bask in her luminous presence, like sunshine breaking through clouds. Her comforting light touched all who were fortunate enough to know her.

Medy was a devoted mother and lovingly raised her two children on her own. An avid animal lover, Medy also found joy in the simple pleasures of life. She loved gardening, trying her luck at casinos, and cherished getting together with her fellow Filipinos. Though quiet and often keeping to herself, Medy enjoyed a calm and simple life.

Born in Leyte, Philippines, she was the daughter of Crispin Acaso and Barnarda Honor. She spent her childhood in Leyte and graduated from local schools. In the early 1980s, she moved to Sunnymead, California, before settling in Bardstown, Kentucky. In 2010, she moved to Hamilton, where she resided until her passing.

She is survived by her children, Emily Higuchi of Knoxville, Tennessee, and Michael Higuchi of Janesville, Wisconsin; three grandchildren: Ava, MJ, and Winston; and three siblings: Melchora Stitt of Hamilton, Annie Drexler of Oak Harbor, Washington, and Melly Akin of Hamilton. She was preceded in death by her parents and two siblings: Tony Acaso and Bernie Acaso.

Cremation has been effected. Private family memorial services will be held at a later date. Koup Family Funeral Home is overseeing the arrangements. Condolences may be left for the family online at koupfunerals.com.
