Maxine Osmundson

Maxine Osmundson of Eureka, died on Saturday, August 8, 2015, at the Eureka Nursing Center, in Eureka at the age of 92.
She was born on February 9, 1923, in Stroud, Oklahoma, the daughter of Elza Percy and Clemma (Black) Waltman. She was raised in Upper Fall River attending Lapland Grade School, and later Eureka High School. After graduation she was an aircraft riveter during World War II in Kansas City. On July 13, 1943, Maxine was united in marriage to Ralph Leonard Osmundson in Kansas City. Maxine continued working in Kansas City until Ralph’s discharge from the United States Navy. They made their home in Eureka until 1957 when they moved to Madison. Ralph preceded her in death on August 3, 1986.
Maxine was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star of Madison.
She is survived by two children, son, Mark Osmundson of Madison; daughter, Connie Jo Osmundson of Eureka; four grandchildren: Michael Osmundson, Shelly McDaris, LeAnn True, and Jessica Hess; five great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren; and one brother, Perry Waltman of Newton. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; infant son, Max; one great-grandson, Kaleb; three brothers, Harold “Sarge” Waltman, Glenn Waltman, and JB Waltman; and one sister, Mary Lewis.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M., Wednesday, August 12, 2015 at the First Christian Church of Madison with Pastor Bob Robison officiating. Interment will follow at Greenwood Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that memorials be made to the First Christian Church of Madison. Contributions may be sent in care of Koup Family Funeral Home, P.O. Box 595, Eureka, KS 67045, which was in charge of service arrangements.
