Mary Smith
Mary Louise Smith of Mesa, Arizona, formerly of Eureka, Kansas, died on Friday, September 9, 2016 at the home of her daughter, in Mesa, at the age of 89.
She was born on June 30, 1927, in Teterville, Greenwood County, Kansas, the daughter of Earl and Hilda (Prouty) Buster. She was raised in Greenwood County and graduated from Eureka High School. In 1946, Mary was united in marriage to Jack Webb. This marriage later ended in divorce. Mary worked for the National Archives in Washington, DC during World War II. She later returned to Eureka and worked at Boeing in Wichita. In 1954, Mary was united in marriage to Perry Smith in Wellington, KS. He preceded her in death on February 2, 2013.
She was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Eureka.
She is survived by six children, Jack Webb of Orlando, Florida; Dana Bloom of Mesa, Arizona; Terri Lenker of Ottawa, Kansas; Mark Smith of Independence, Missouri; Sharon Rose of Huntsville, Texas; and Sally Power of Clay Center, Kansas; and eleven grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, four brothers, one sister; and one great-granddaughter.
Funeral services will be held at 1:30 P.M., Monday, September 19, 2016 at Koup Family Funeral Home, in Eureka with Pastor John Craighead of the Jefferson Street Baptist Church officiating. Interment will follow at Greenwood Cemetery.
