Marion Eugene “Gene” Peavy, Sr., 66, of London, Arkansas, passed away Saturday, December 31, 2005, at his home.
He was born August 4, 1939, at Winnsboro, South Carolina, and was a superintendent for The Atlantic Group. He was preceded in death by his parents, Henry Clarence, Sr., and Marian Jeanette Smith Peavy; a brother, Henry Clarence Peavy, Jr.; father-in-law, Victor Hobbs and two infant great-grandchildren.
Survivors include his wife, Jane E. Peavy of London, Arkansas; four sons, “Gene” Peavy, Jr. of Manning, South Carolina; Mark Peavy of Columbia, South Carolina; Bruce Peavy of Summerton, South Carolina; and Robbie Beggs of Olathe, Kansas; three daughters, Beverlee Johnson of Barnwell, South Carolina, Wendi Floyd of Sumter, South Carolina, and Jennifer Coates of Fayetteville, North Carolina; one brother, Langford Peavy of Cameron, Louisiana; mother-in-law, Adeline Hobbs of Toronto, Kansas; thirteen grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M., Wednesday, January 4, 2006 at Koup Family Funeral Home, in Eureka. Interment will follow in Greenwood Cemetery.
A memorial has been established in his name with Hospice Care of Arkansas. Contributions may be sent in care of the funeral home.
