Jim White

Jimmie W. White of Eureka, died on Tuesday, August 18, 2015, at the Greenwood County Hospital, in Eureka, at the age of 74.

He was born on October 11, 1940, in Wellington, Kansas the son of Wilford Nathaniel and Catherine Bernice (Corneil) White. He was raised in Geuda Springs and graduated from South Haven High School with the class of 1958. After high school, he attended Pittsburg State University, earning a Master’s Degree in Teaching, graduating in 1973. He then began as a teacher in Horton, for Industrial Arts, Drafting, and Driver’s Ed. On August 2, 1970, he was united in marriage to Connie Allen in Horton. They made their home in Eureka, and Jim began teaching at Eureka Junior Senior High School. He retired in 1998.

He was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Eureka.

He is survived by his wife, Connie of the home; three children, James White of Wichita; Lance White of Eureka; and Tiffany Findley of Eureka; five grandchildren; and three brothers, Eldon White of Kingston, Oklahoma; Dennis White of Waterville; and Leon White of Geuda Springs. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M., Monday, August 24, 2015 at the First United Methodist Church, in Eureka, with Reverend Kenneth Baker officiating. Interment will follow at Greenwood Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that memorials be made to the Eureka Nursing Center. Contributions may be sent in care of Koup Family Funeral Home, P.O. Box 595, Eureka, KS 67045, which was in charge of service arrangements.
