James Richard Robison of Eureka, died on Friday, November 11, 2022, at his home in Eureka, at the age of 80.

He was born on October 18, 1942, in Wichita, the son of Richard Charles “Dick” and Mary Irene (Ditty) Robison. He was raised in Virgil and graduated from Virgil High School with the Class of 1960. He then attended college at Emporia, graduating with a Bachelor of Science, majoring in Biology and minoring in chemistry. On August 14, 1964, Jim was united in marriage to Barbara Lindamood. To this union one daughter was born. This marriage would later end in divorce.

Jim began working for the Kansas Department of Health in Topeka. He was there for several years before purchasing farmland near Virgil. The family returned to Virgil in 1973 where Jim farmed and ranched. On February 14, 2014, Jim was united in marriage to Kathy (Haney) Brown in Grenola. He eventually retired from farming but continued to own cattle until the end of his life.

He is survived by his wife, Kathy, of the home; daughter, Dana Lynn and husband, Shawn Mills, dual residents of rural Moline and Eureka; two grandchildren, Thomas James “TJ” Mills, and Emery Pyke Mills; and two siblings. He was preceded in death by his parents.

A private graveside service will take place at a later date. Cremation has been effected. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to Good Shepherd Hospice or to Eureka USD 389 for the School Farm Project.
