Helen Louise (Lilley) Butler, went to meet her Savior, Wednesday, December 23, 2015, at her farm of 51 years of rural Neal, at the age of 84.
Helen was born on February 6, 1931, the daughter of Wayne and Clarice (Criger) Lilley, on her Grandpa and Grandma Lilley’s farm in rural Piedmont. She graduated from Tonovay High School with the class of 1949. She worked for Western Union in Eureka, and the Credit Bureau in Eureka. On February 25, 1950, she was united in marriage to Albert Leon Butler at the home of Reverend Johnson in Eureka. She and Albert raised 7 children and she loved working in her garden and raising her sheep. She was a member of the Neal Evangelical Free Church.
She is survived by seven children: Debra and husband, Bill Weingartner of Madison; Marsha and husband, Terry Dunham of Eureka; Belinda and husband, Larry Mead of Tonovay; Greg and wife, Ann Butler of Neal; Alisa Milner of Neal; Rebecca and husband, Rick Stever of Eureka; and Angela Butler-Clark of Neal; eighteen grandchildren; nineteen great-grandchildren; and two siblings, Aline McKenzie of Howard; and Frank Lilley of Fort Collins, Colorado. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, and three siblings, Bob Lilley, Ralph Lilley, and Kay Knudsen.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M., Monday, December 28, 2015 at Koup Family Funeral Home, with Pastor Larry Evans of the Neal Evangelical Free Church officiating. Interment will follow at Star Cemetery, Piedmont. Visitation hours are set from 2:00 P.M. to 4:00 P.M., Sunday, at the funeral home.
