Harriet Ruth Patchett of Eureka, Kansas, died on Tuesday, August 23, 2016, at Greenwood County Hospital in Eureka, at the age of 92.
She was born on September 6, 1923, in Neal, Kansas, the daughter of Henry S. and Ethel Blanch (Richey) Bieler. She was raised in Greenwood County and attended country schools, graduating from Eureka High School with the Class of 1941. On May 20 1944, Harriet was united in marriage to Noble Patchett in Eureka. The family lived in the Wichita area. Harriet was an accounting clerk for the Wichita Eagle-Beacon, retiring in 1978 to Eureka. Noble preceded her in death on January 3, 2013.
She was a member of the Christian & Congregational Church of Eureka.
She is survived by one son, Marty Patchett of Eureka; six grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; and one brother, Bluford Bieler of Wichita. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; three children, Verle and infants, LeRoy and Vera Louise; two brothers; and three sisters.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M., Saturday, August 27, 2016, at Koup Family Funeral Home in Eureka with Mr. Marty Taliaferro of the Eureka Church of Christ officiating. Interment will follow at Greenwood Cemetery. Visitation hours are set from 5:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M., Friday, at the funeral home.
