Harriet Neoma Edmondson of Eureka, died on Friday, May 29, 2015, at the Eureka Nursing Center, in Eureka, at the age of 94.
She was born on March 6, 1921, in Atchison, Kansas, the daughter of Philip and Susie (Eberly) Riedesel. She was raised in Nevada and attended local schools. Just before graduation, the family moved to Sentinel, Missouri. On August 26, 1941, Harriet was united in marriage to Ray Olen Edmondson in Buffalo, Missouri. They lived in the Sentinel area until World War II, when they moved to Kansas City. Later, they moved to Augusta before building a home in Wichita. In the early 1960’s, they purchased a farm near Eureka, where they both resided until his death 1999.
She is survived by two daughters, Sue Phares of Wichita; and Margery Ramsey of Valley Center; son, Garry Edmondson of Eureka; three grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and one brother, Dean Riedesel of Perry, Kansas. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; and five siblings: Jack, Gertrude, Maxine, June, and Katherine.
Memorial services will be held at 11:00 A.M., Monday, June 1, 2015 at Greenwood Cemetery, Eureka, with Mr. Jayme A. Koup officiating.
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that memorials be made to Friendship Meals. Contributions may be sent in care of Koup Family Funeral Home, P.O. Box 595, Eureka, KS 67045, which was in charge of service arrangements.
