Elsie Mae Thompson, 86, of Ozark, Mo., died March 20 at Neighborhoods at Quail Creek in Springfield, Mo.

She was born March 13, 1939, in Greenwood County, the daughter of James C. Fraser and Gilla Bolger.

She grew up on a farm south of Climax and attended Climax School. She retired from the HK Porter company in Chanute.

She married Ralph Romig on Dec. 7, 1956, in Eureka. She later married Anthony Charles Thompson on Nov. 9, 1986, in Chanute. He preceded her in death May 29, 2011.

She is survived by son Ralph Romig of Huntsville, Texas, and daughters Phyllis Zorn of Marion and Karen Smith of Ozark, Mo; six grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and sister Mary Sevier of Duncan, Okla.

Brother John Fraser and sister Sandra Soendker preceded her in death.

Graveside services will be held on May 27 at Greenwood Cemetery in Eureka.
