Ellen Joan Highsmith Wilson, age 85, passed away February 4, 2016.
She was born January 5, 1931 in Severy, Kansas to Howard H Highsmith and Ellen Effie Wright Highsmith. She married D.C. Wilson May 23, 1949 in Eureka, Kansas. They were later divorced.
Mom dedicated her life to her children. She was a wonderful mom who always made sure her brood looked their best and we had what we needed. She was good at giving advice, making sure we looked at a problem from all angles. Her faith in God was very strong which shined through her actions of love and care for others.
Ellen is survived by her children, Pam and husband, Jim Woody of Saint George, UT; Rhonda and husband, Neil Sudduth of Hobbs, NM; Julie and husband, Miles Moretti of Salt Lake City, UT; Mark Wilson of Littleton, CO; and Angie and husband, Carey Gerber of Ash Flat, AR; eight grandchildren, Brian and wife, Carrie Woody of Mountain View, WY; Lance and wife, Meredith Lind of Columbus, OH; Jenny Sudduth of Orlando, FL; Nick and wife, Valarie Sudduth of Chesapeake, VA; Shawn and wife, Amy Sudduth of San Marcos, CA; Ashley McConnell of Houston, TX; Erin Moretti of Salt Lake City, UT; and Carrie Crawford of Wellington, CO; twenty great grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Virginia and husband, Dwight Aitken of Hot Springs, AR; and Linda and husband, Marvin Neukirk of Tecumseh, KS.
Graveside services will be held at 10:00 A.M., Saturday, February 20, 2016 at Twin Grove Cemetery, Severy, Kansas under the direction of Koup Family Funeral Home.
