Diana McMullen

The vibrant and spirited Diana Sue (Divine) McMullen of Eureka, died on Tuesday, March 31, 2026, at her home in Eureka, at the age of 83.

She was born on February 25, 1943, in Eureka, the sixth child of Orville E. and Eva Alice (Horton) Divine. Raised in Eureka, Diana attended local schools and graduated with the class of 1961. Following graduation, she moved to Wichita to attend beautician school, a pursuit that would define her long professional career.

Upon returning to Eureka, she began working at Stoney’s Beauty Shop. On June 29, 1963, Diana was united in marriage to Dean Edward McMullen in Emporia, and to this union, three children were born. Diana remained a fixture at Stoney’s for over 40 years before building her own studio beside her home. She owned and operated Diana’s Beauty Shop well into her 70s, finally retiring in 2020. Dean preceded her in death on July 7, 2003.

Diana loved family gatherings, and her favorite times were when she was surrounded by family. She found great joy in music and performance; in her younger years, she and Dean were regulars at the Burlington Opera House, and she later cherished her trips to see the musical shows in Branson. She also enjoyed shopping and was well known for her sharp tongue and her hearty laughter.

She is survived by her children: Lisa McMullen of Fall River; Brenda and husband, Nick Ward of Eureka; and Terry and wife, Jacquetta McMullen of Fall River; stepdaughter, Beth and husband, George Ricketts of Ozawkie; six grandchildren: Shelby Jones, Tara Hughes, Ryan Hughes, Caleb Ricketts, Dalton Ricketts, and Trevor Ricketts; ten great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild, with two more on the way. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; one grandson, Tanner McMullen; and her five siblings: Orville Divine, Maxine Carson, Mary Lou Stuber, David Divine, and Don Divine.

Memorial services will be held at 2:00 P.M., Monday, April 6, 2026, at Koup Family Funeral Home, Eureka, with Pastor Kevin Lawrence of the Climax United Methodist Church officiating. Inurnment will follow at Greenwood Cemetery, Eureka. Cremation has been effected.
