David “Clark” Bogle, a true cowboy from Eureka, Kansas, rode into the sunset at his home on Saturday, June 14, 2025, at the age of 73.
Born under the open skies of Eureka on May 23, 1952, Clark was the son of Billy Lee and Eunice Caroline (Mahar) Bogle. He spent his younger days between the green pastures of Eureka and the sprawling ranches of Texas, following his father's work, learning the value of hard work and the cowboy way. He attended Eureka High School. On June 28, 1972, he tied the knot with Erline Gayle Edwards in Eureka, building a home and welcoming four children. The call of the Texas ranches continued, drawing him back and forth, until that chapter closed.
On July 31, 1980, Clark's heart found its match with Marion “Kay” Hamilton. Their families became one, with Clark proudly welcoming Kay's two sons. The open road beckoned again, and they headed to Texas for five years of ranching, before the Kansas prairie called them home.
Back in Eureka, Clark built Bogle Fencing with Eric and Brian, a testament to his grit and determination. Though his health eventually forced him to hang up his hat in 2018, his spirit remained strong.
A skilled farrier, Clark had a way with horses, understanding their language and tending to them with care. He found solace in the pages of well-worn Western novels and the flickering images of classic cowboy heroes on TV. In his younger years, he chased the thrill of the rodeo, the dust and thunder of the arena forever etched in his soul. Even when he could no longer ride, he remained a devoted fan, rodeo being the only sport that could hold his attention.
Clark is survived by his beloved wife, Kay, his steady partner on this life's trail; his three children: Karen and her husband, Lee Lampson of Severy; Eric and his wife, Melissa Bogle of Eureka; and Brian Bogle of Reece. His legacy continues through his eight grandchildren: Katelyn, Ashley, Zoe, Elissa, Annabell, Reata, Maci, and Buster; and four great-grandchildren, with three more little ones on the way. He was preceded in death by his parents; three children, Shawna, Justin, and Tara; one grandchild, Lillian; and his siblings: Richard Lee Bogle and Mary “Kay” Soule.
A private family inurnment will take place at a later date. Cremation has effected. Koup Family Funeral Home is handling the final arrangements. The family invites you to leave your condolences and memories at koupfunerals.com.
