Craig Lee Huddleston of Eureka, KS, died Monday, October 2, 2017, at Via Christi St. Francis Hospital in Wichita, KS, at the age of 47.
Craig was born February 22, 1970, in Emporia, KS, the son of William S. and Glenda (Harred) Goodwin. He was raised in Lebo, KS, and attended local schools, graduating from Lebo High School. He attended one year of college at Fort Scott, Kansas before returning home. He went to work at Iowa Beef Processing Plant in Emporia, before starting Paramedic school in Independence, KS. Craig worked 25-years as a paramedic saving countless lives. He worked in Topeka (AMR), Morris County, Anderson County, Greenwood County and finally Coffey County until he was diagnosed with cancer. He touched many lives during those years. He will always be remembered as “that big teddy bear”. He always had a ready hug, smile or a shoulder to cry on.
On April 3, 2004, Craig was united in marriage to Donna Sue Williams in Eureka Springs, AK. They made their home in Eureka. Together they raised 6 children.
Craig was a member of Masonic Lodge.
He is survived by his wife, Donna of the home; his mother Glenda Goodwin; six children: Erica Kuhn of El Dorado, KS; Kayla Baker and fiancé, Matt Luder of Emporia, KS; Tabatha and husband Gabe Sauceda of Emporia, KS; Tyler and wife Sarah Kuhn of Yulee, FL; Kynzie Huddleston of the home; and Masen Huddleston of the home; six grandchildren: Kaidence, Eli, Joel, Braelyn, Kannon, and Rayleigh; two sisters: Kelli & husband, Scott Galloway of Towanda, KS; and Elizabeth Brannan of Emporia, KS; one brother, Bill and wife, Kris Goodwin of Emporia, and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father William S Goodwin; grandparents Lois & Billy Harred; brother Scott Huddleston, and sister Mary Lauve Stark.
Memorial services are set for 2:00 P.M., Wednesday, October 11, 2017, at Koup Family Funeral Home in Eureka. Inurnment will follow at Greenwood Cemetery, Eureka.
