Connie Marie White, of Eureka, peacefully passed away on Monday, September 14, 2026, at Greenwood County Hospital at the age of 87.
Born on February 23, 1939, in Horton to Ira and Ruby (Simpson) Allen, Connie was raised on the Kickapoo reservation near Horton. She carried the values of her upbringing throughout her life, graduating from Powhattan High School in 1957 before beginning work at a bank in Horton. On August 2, 1970, she pledged her life and love to Jim Wilford White in Horton. Their union brought the gift of three children, and they anchored their lives and raised their family in Eureka.
Connie's life was defined by quiet service and creative joy. As a dedicated daycare provider, she offered a safe, nurturing haven for Eureka's children for many years. She found solace in sewing and crafting, turning simple thread and materials into lasting memories for those around her. Her faith and community spirit anchored her through her active fellowship at the First United Methodist Church of Eureka and her service with the Greenwood County Hospital Auxiliary. She was preceded in death by her devoted husband, Jim, in 2015.
She is survived by her children: James White of Wichita, Lance White of Eureka, and Tiffany Findley of Eureka; four grandchildren: Dustin White, Cody White, Tyler Findley, and Megan Findley; three great-grandchildren: Kolson White, Abbi White, and Zane White; and six siblings: Bonnie Milroy of Winchester, Edna Whitney of Albuquerque, New Mexico, Virgil Allen of Baldwin City, Carol Barnhardt of Winchester, Sheila Barnhardt of Eudora, and Keith Allen of Missouri.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; and five siblings: Robert Simpson, Donnie Allen, Johnny Allen, Raymond Allen, and Carolyn Snodgrass.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 A.M., Friday, September 18, 2026, at the First United Methodist Church of Eureka, with Pastor Linda Pope officiating. Interment will follow at Greenwood Cemetery in Eureka.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to the Greenwood County Hospital Auxiliary. Contributions may be sent in care of Koup Family Funeral Home, P.O. Box 595, Eureka, KS 67045, which is overseeing arrangements. Condolences may be left for the family online at koupfunerals.com.
