Betty Jean Hays

Betty Jean Hays, formerly of Eureka, died on Wednesday, September 16, 2015 at LakePoint Nursing Home, in El Dorado, Kansas, at the age of 89.
She was born on April 8, 1926, in Eureka, the daughter of Joe and Hattie Cope. She was raised in Eureka and graduated from local schools. After her schooling, she worked for Eureka Federal Savings and Loan. On March 25, 1967, Betty was united in marriage to Robert Frank Hays in Nowata, Oklahoma. They lived in Wichita while Robert worked for Wichita schools. They later lived in Eureka. Robert preceded her in death on August 1, 2013.
She is survived by one sister, Mary Reeder of Eureka. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, brothers, Bud, Ed, and Bob; and sisters, Dot, Lou, Helen, Myrna, Georgie, and Hazel.
Memorials services will be held at 10:00 A.M., Tuesday, September 29, 2015 at Greenwood Cemetery in Eureka, with Mr. Jayme A. Koup officiating. Cremation has been effected. Koup Family Funeral Home was in charge of service arrangements.
