She was born April 9, 1968, at the Winfield Hospital in Winfield, Kansas, to Joseph Richard and Patricia Jane (Boulanger) Corle. She was very proud of her Osage heritage and was a member of the White Hair Band.
Barbara's journey through life was marked by a strong sense of community and a deep love for those around her. Her educational path began at Moline Elementary School in Moline, Kansas, leading her to graduate with the West Elk High School Class of 1986 in Howard. Always eager to expand her horizons, she continued her studies at Independence Community College in Independence, Kansas, proudly earning an associate's degree in 1989.
Barb's commitment to her community was evident in her diverse career. She contributed her talents to Fred's IGA in Moline, Kansas, before dedicating over two decades of service to the residents of Howard Twilight Manor in Howard, Kansas. Later, she continued her impactful work with the Howard Housing Authority. Her faith was also a cornerstone of her life, and she found spiritual comfort and fellowship as a cherished member of the Elk Falls United Methodist Church in Elk Falls, Kansas.
Beyond her professional and spiritual pursuits, Barbara embraced life with enthusiasm and an open heart. Her high school and college years were filled with the thrill of riding horses and the camaraderie of competing in various horse shows and shodeos. These passions brought her immense joy and a sense of freedom. Yet, her greatest affection was reserved for her beloved canine companions; she absolutely adored her two dogs, Peanut and later, Daisy, who brought boundless comfort and laughter into her home. Keeping up with the lives and adventures of her niece and nephews also brought a special warmth to her heart.
