Amy Lee (Stuber) Rogers

Amy Lee Rogers of Toronto, died on Saturday, October 12, 2019 at her home in Toronto, at the age of 89.

She was born on October 2, 1930, in Climax, Kansas, the daughter of Granville Leroy and Rose Alice (Hardy) Stuber. She was raised in rural eastern Greenwood County, graduating from Toronto High School. On May 20, 1949, Amy was united in marriage to John Myron Rogers in Eureka. They made their home on a farm southeast of Toronto. To this union three children were born.

The family moved into town in the mid-50’s and Amy worked at a variety of places including as an operator in Toronto, waitressing, cleaning the school, and driving the senior bus. She was a member of the Toronto United Methodist Church, the Toronto Chapter of the Order of the Eastern Star, and the American Legion Auxiliary. John preceded her in death on November 30, 1993.

She is survived by her children, Thomas Rogers of Wichita; William Rogers of Toronto; and Pamela Rose Smith of Toronto; three grandchildren: Shelly Smith, Bryan Smith, and Zachary Rogers; numerous great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; and one grandson, James Wallace.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M., Thursday, October 17, 2019 at Koup Family Funeral Home, in Eureka with Pastor Kevin Lawrence of the Toronto United Methodist Church officiating. Interment will follow at Toronto Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that memorials be made to the Order of the Eastern Star, Golden Rod Chapter #163 or to the American Cancer Society.
