Allen D Hall

Allen Dale Hall laid down his tools and passed away peacefully at Eureka Nursing Center, Monday, December 22, 2025, at the age of 84. A man who spent his life building a legacy with his own two hands, he entered his final rest surrounded by the memory of a job well done.

Allen was born June 10, 1941, in Eureka, the son of Charles Willis and Alpha Celona (Butler) Hall. He was raised in the Tonovay community and attended local schools where he was active in 4-H, and graduated with the Tonovay High School Class of 1959. Upon graduation, Allen did what he loved most—he went to work. He worked in the oil fields, farmed, and learned carpentry from John Allan during this time. Allen was married to Debra Brookover in Eureka, and together they welcomed five children. On July 2, 1981, Allen was united in marriage to Sheridan L. “Sheri” Atwood in Perryton, TX, and she and her son joined Allen and his five children. Allen and Sheri later adopted three children to complete their family.

Allen built his career from the ground up, starting his business, Allen Hall Construction, in the early 1970s and working until his health would not allow him to any longer. Whether he was on a job site or tinkering at the farm, he was never one to sit still. More than the structures he built, he was the strong foundation of his family, and he was happiest when they were all gathered under one roof.

He was a devoted member of the Christ Lutheran Church of Eureka, Fidelity Lodge 106, Midian Shrine, and various other Masonic affiliations, where he was known for his steady hand and willingness to help with any project. Allen’s commitment to his community was most evident through his 25 years of service as a volunteer firefighter for the city of Eureka. During his five-year tenure as fire chief, he led with the same reliability he brought to his job sites, ensuring the safety of his neighbors and mentoring a new generation of first responders.

Allen is survived by his wife, Sheri, of the home; nine children: Kathryn Johnson and husband, Doug, of Wichita, KS; Jodie Strickland of Valrico, FL; Melisa Burke and husband, Michael, of Wichita, KS; Allison Harris and husband, William, of Groton, CT; Brandon Hall and wife, Calisa, of Eureka, KS; Chris Inmann and wife, Kelly, of Highlands Ranch, CO; Darrell Denton and fianceé, Amy, of Virginia Beach, VA; Elizabeth Hall and partner, Payton, of Lees Summit, MO; and RoseMarie Hall of Eureka; 21 grandchildren: Jeremy, Ashly, Sarah, Hannah, Abigail, Rachel, Joel, Krista, Breeanna, Cheyanna, Adrianna, Caleb, Dreyanna, Celona, Bronwyn, Tobin, Carter, Lila, Garrett, Rowan, and Ainsley; 13 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his brother Ron Hall and wife, Melinda, of Eureka; sister-in-law Amy Hall of Lawrence, KS; and numerous nieces and nephews. Allen was preceded in death by his parents; great-grandson, Everett James Campbell; and two brothers: Larry Hall and Charles Hall.
