Gerald Lee Cobal

April 26, 1937 - November 4, 2002

Gerald Lee Cobal of Eureka, died at Via-Christi St. Francis Medical Center in Wichita, on Monday, November 4, 2002 at the age of 65. He was born in Altoona, Kansas, on April 26, 1937, the son of Gerald V. and Velma (Mathes) Cobal. He was raised in Fredonia and attended Fredonia schools. After his schooling, he entered the United States Marine Corps and served his country during the Korean Conflict. After his discharge, Gerald moved to Dallas, Texas and worked as a machinist until 1990 when he moved to Wichita. In 2000, he moved to Eureka to be closer to his mother. He is survived by his mother, Velma Hobbs of Eureka; one son, Mike Cobal; one grandchild; and one brother Bobbie Cobal. He was preceded in death by his father. Graveside services and interment will be held at 11:00 A.M., Wednesday, November 6, 2002, in Greenwood Cemetery with Reverend Bruce Earn of the Fall River Christian Church officiating.
