December 31, 1951 - February 14, 2022
Debra Ann (Jardot) Dannels, 70, passed away peacefully, surrounded by loving family, at Wesley Medical Center in Wichita, on Monday, February 14, 2022. Deb was born at St. Mary’s Hospital in Emporia, Kansas on December 31, 1951, to Ralph and Anna May (Crabtree) Jardot. Ralph worked in the oil field, so Deb lived in many towns in Kansas and one in Louisiana; eventually, she settled in Altoona where she met Allen Dannels, and it was love at first sight. Allen and Deb were united in marriage on December 19, 1969, in Fredonia. They moved to Hamilton, where she raised three children: Brett, Brandy, and Michelle. Deb and Allen were married for 52 wonderful years. During her trip to Europe with her best friends and cousins, Short and Betsy, she traveled to Belford, France; the town her ancestors grew up in. Deb loved genealogy and, if asked, she could probably figure out how she was related to you. She was a loving wife, mother, sister, grandmother, aunt, mother-in-law, and friend. She loved traveling, baking, and spending time with family and friends, especially during Christmas. She was a free-spirit and loved with everything she had. We know she is in Heaven visiting with all the friends and family she has missed for so long. Deb is survived by her husband, Allen Dannels of the home; her son, Brett and wife, Mary (Kerwin) Dannels; her middle daughter, Brandy and husband, Michael Freund; and her youngest daughter, Michelle (Dannels) Harber, and husband, Deven Clark, all of Hamilton. She was also the proud grandmother of nine grandchildren: Catherine, Calli, Trace, and Molly Dannels; Anthony, Dylan, and Elizabeth Freund; and Faith and Demetrius Harber. She is also survived by her nephews: Seth Jardot and his children: Mallory and Barrett; and Brandon and Rachel Schmale and their children, McKenzie and Jameson; and nephew, Jess Jardot. Deb is preceded in death by her parents, Ralph and Ann Jardot; her younger sister, Terresa Jardot-Jones; her younger brother, Ronald Jardot. Funeral mass will be held at 1:30 P.M., Monday, February 21, 2022, at Saint John’s Catholic Church, in Hamilton with Father Nicholaus Jurgensmeyer officiating. Rosary recitation will begin at 1:00 P.M. Visitation hours are set from 1:00 P.M. to 3:00 P.M., Sunday, at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Blakely Cemetery, Madison. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to Saint John’s Catholic Church. Contributions may be sent in care of Koup Family Funeral Home, PO Box 595, Eureka KS 67045, which is overseeing arrangements. Condolences may be left for the family online, at koupfunerals.com.
